The new park opened with the Main Entrance in 2011, and it features a Rain Garden, Michel Family Children’s Garden, Icon Water Feature, Entry Wall, and unique public artwork. However, you may need to arrange ahead of time to hold a private event.
The children’s garden includes a scavenger hunt through an A-Z of plants. Each letter represents a different horticultural term, and the Greensboro Beautiful organization developed the game for the park. The 14-foot giraffe was installed in 2010 by Chris’ Topiary Nursery. Another addition to the children’s garden is the Book Stage, a unique setting for outdoor performances, such as concerts, workshops, and other events. It is a great setting for children to learn about the importance of reading and other literacy.
